- Day 2: Gentle Cochin Sightseeing – Visit Fort Kochi, the Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattancherry Palace, the spice markets and the colonial heritage areas. This relaxed introduction lets you adapt gradually to Kerala’s tropical climate and slow-paced atmosphere before the wellness part of the journey. Overnight stay in Cochin.
- Day 3: Cochin → Munnar (Approx. 125–130 km | 4–5 hrs) – A scenic drive through the Western Ghats, with waterfalls, tea plantations and mountain landscapes along the route. On arrival, check in to your hill resort, surrounded by cool weather and fresh mountain air, ideal for relaxation. Overnight stay in Munnar.
- Day 4: Leisure Day in Munnar – A slow day with optional tea plantation walks, light sightseeing and nature trails, or simply time to relax amid serene hill scenery. Overnight stay in Munnar.
- Day 5: Munnar → Thekkady (Periyar) (Approx. 90–95 km | 3–4 hrs) – Travel through Kerala’s scenic spice-growing region, known for cardamom, pepper, cinnamon and clove plantations. Thekkady’s tranquil forests and greenery create a peaceful setting for the days ahead. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
- Day 6: Relaxed Day in Thekkady – Optional gentle activities include a Periyar Lake boat ride, spice plantation visits, nature walks or an Ayurvedic massage. The day is intentionally flexible, to keep a calm rhythm before the retreat stay. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
- Day 7: Thekkady → Alleppey Houseboat Cruise (Approx. 140 km | 4–5 hrs) – Board your private Kerala houseboat and cruise through tranquil backwaters, coconut lagoons, village canals and paddy fields. Enjoy authentic Kerala meals on board and unwind before the retreat stay. Overnight stay on the houseboat.
- Day 8: Alleppey → Kovalam (Approx. 175 km | 4.5–5.5 hrs) – After disembarking from the houseboat in the morning, drive to Kerala’s renowned coastal wellness destination. Check in to your Ayurveda retreat near the beach. The evening is at leisure, with optional yoga, meditation or a sunset walk by the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
- Day 9: Ayurveda Wellness Programme in Kovalam – Begin your personalised programme with a consultation at the retreat. Your treatments are then planned for you and may include traditional massages, herbal oil therapies, yoga sessions and meditation, with meals as per your programme. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
- Day 10: Departure from Kovalam – After breakfast and an optional final treatment, transfer to Trivandrum International Airport (about 15 km) for your onward journey, or continue your stay with an extended retreat programme.
Ayurveda Retreat Extensions: For a deeper experience, we suggest extending your stay in Kovalam with a 7-day, 14-day or 21-day Ayurveda retreat programme. Programmes can include a consultation, traditional treatments, yoga, meditation and an Ayurvedic diet, planned by the retreat’s practitioners. A longer stay also gives you a slower, more restful pace by the sea.
Please Note: Drive durations are approximate and may vary with weather, seasonal traffic, road conditions and stopovers. Treatment schedules are planned after a consultation at the retreat and vary from person to person. Ayurveda is a traditional wellness practice and not a substitute for medical care, so please check with your doctor first if you have a health condition or are pregnant.
