Day 1: Arrival at Mumbai
Welcome to India, You will be received by Premium India Tours representative at airport and assisted to your hotel. In the Hotel you will have a brief description of your tour and the representative will hand over your documents regarding the tour, Rest of the time at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Cochin
Breakfast at Hotel, later proceed for sightseeing tour. Cochin was originally settled by the Portuguese and boasts a natural harbor with lagoons, canals, and fishing hamlets. One of the three biggest ports on India’s west coast, it is also an industrially developed area, with the coir industry of special importance (coir is a coarse fiber made from the husk of coconuts). Today you’ll visit the Cochin Harbor Terminus; the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry, originally built by the Portuguese; Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town (the synagogue houses scrolls of the Old Testament); Fort Cochin area; St. Francis Church, the oldest European-built church in India (and where the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama was first interred); and see a stretch of the coastline dotted with massive Chinese fishing nets (cheenavala), believed to have been introduced by traders from the court of Kublai Khan (this is the only place they are found outside of China). In the evening you’ll attend a performance of the Kathakali, an elaborate Indian dance-drama. Overnight at hotel
Day 3: Cochin / Munnar
After an early breakfast at the hotel, drive down to Munnar - a quaint hill station nestled on the verdant slopes of tea plantations that exudes a rare old world charm.. At a height of 1525 meters, Munnar offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. On arrival at Munnar, get checked in at the hotel. Later in the day enjoy roaming through the beautiful Tea Gardens and National Park of Munnar. This panoramic hill resort will invite you to fall in love with its beauty. The rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 4: Munnar
Wake up in the morning with the anticipation of exploring the beautiful town of Munnar. Sightseeing tours will include visits to the Eravikulam National Park Kundala Lake and Mattuppetty. Post lunch, the day is free for leisure which you can utilize by shopping at the local market. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Thekkady - Periyar
Drive to Thekkady early in the day and have a scrumptious lunch in the hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure and then set out on a boat cruise on the Lake Periyar in the evening. Periyar, south India's most popular wildlife sanctuary. Spread over an area of 777 sq km, this sanctuary has about 35 tigers and leopards. However, sighting a tiger in Periyar is a fortune for one out of thousand. The park encompasses a 26 sq km artificial lake and is the home of sambars, wild boars, elephants and antelopes which can be occasionally seen on the banks of the river during a boat cruise. Periyar, otherwise, blessed by Nature has enormous tea, coffee, pepper and cardamom plantations and is lush green. Afternoon boat cruise on Lake Periyar to view wildlife. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Periyar – Kumarakom
Go along with the nature's flow in Periyar and take it easy as you visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and walk along the aromatic spice plantations. In the evening, you will be driven to Kumarakom. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7: Kumarakom (House Boat Cruise)
Drive to Kumarakom, perched sleepily amongst a tangle of lush tropical waterways known as the Keralan backwaters, Kumarakom is technically an island on Lake Vembanad. An ideal place to relax and be at one with natural surroundings. Embark on deluxe Houseboat for backwater cruise"Kettuvalam" at Kumarakom. Head towards Munnattumugham village; through interior backwaters. Continue to Champakulam, earlier named as Kalloorkad, the ancient trade centre of backwaters. Visit famous St, Marys Forance Church that is believed as blessed by Str. Francis in 42 AD. The murla paintings by vegetable oil are an exciting panoramic vision. Visit the famous Champakulam snake boat construction yard. Overnight on board House boat.
Day 08 and 09: Kumarakom – Kovalam
After having breakfast aboard the houseboat, disembark and head towards Kovalam. Enroute, visit the Wood Palace. After checking in at the hotel, spend the last day of the trip at the world famous Kovalam Beach. Kovalam beach is known as the "Paradise of the South". Kovalam is just 16 kms away from Trivandrum, Kerala's capital city. Kovalam is an evergreen and pleasant climatic beach resort.. With high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, this beach paradise creates a unique aquarelle on moonlit nights. Kovalam was brought to the public eye by the Maharaja of Travancore. Over the past three decades, the place has been well developed, and now figures prominently on the world tourism map. The warm and clean atmosphere by the coconut trees and the white sand bed are perfect for relaxing holidays, as the sea breeze gently plays with the waves. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 10: Kovalam – Trivandrum
After the breakfast at the hotel in Kovalam, rest of the time is at leisure. In time transfer to airport for your flight back to home.
