Day-by-Day Itinerary – 7 Days Srinagar, Pahalgam, Sonmarg & Gulmarg Tour

• Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar – Lakeside Welcome & Shikara Ride – Arrive at Srinagar Airport, where our representative meets you for a transfer to your hotel or traditional houseboat on Dal Lake. The first hours are best kept light, as the altitude and calm atmosphere settle in. Later, depending on your arrival time, visit Shankaracharya Temple for a wide view of Srinagar’s water channels and wooden rooftops, then the Mughal gardens of Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, with their terraces, fountains and chinar trees. In the evening, take a shikara ride across Dal Lake. Overnight in Srinagar.
• Day 2: Srinagar to Gulmarg – Meadows, Pine Forests & Gondola Views (approx. 50 km / 2–2.5 hrs each way) – After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg through dense pine forest and open mountain curves, one of Kashmir’s most scenic drives. Gulmarg sits in an open bowl of mountains, where life feels slower and more spacious. Walk the meadows or take the Gondola cable car, subject to weather and availability, towards Apharwat Peak for wide Himalayan views. Return to Srinagar by late afternoon. Overnight in Srinagar.
• Day 3: Srinagar to Sonmarg – Glaciers, River Valleys & High Mountain Air (approx. 80 km / 2.5–3 hrs each way) – After breakfast, drive along the Sindh River to Sonmarg, past small villages, wooden bridges and river bends before the valley opens into alpine meadows. Sonmarg is known for its glacier access points and raw mountain scenery, and the higher altitude brings a colder breeze. Depending on the season, local ponies take visitors towards the Thajiwas Glacier viewpoints. Return to Srinagar by evening. Overnight in Srinagar.
• Day 4: Srinagar to Pahalgam – River Valleys & Forest Roads (approx. 95 km / 2.5–3.5 hrs) – After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam as the road shifts from open plains to pine forests and river-fed valleys, passing saffron fields (seasonal), small settlements and grazing lands. On arrival, check in and spend time by the Lidder River, whose constant sound shapes the town’s slow rhythm. The evening is free for short walks. Overnight in Pahalgam.
• Day 5: Pahalgam Exploration – Betaab Valley & Aru Valley – Spend the day exploring the valleys around Pahalgam. Betaab Valley, surrounded by pine forests and mountain slopes, is named after a Bollywood film shot here and remains a quiet, picnic-style landscape. Aru Valley feels more remote, with open grasslands and traditional wooden houses, and a narrow, scenic road often shared with shepherds. An optional visit to Chandanwari depends on the weather. Return to Pahalgam by evening. Overnight in Pahalgam.
• Day 6: Pahalgam to Srinagar – Return to Valley Life (approx. 95 km / 2.5–3.5 hrs) – After breakfast, drive back to Srinagar. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure, shopping for local handicrafts, walking along Dal Lake or sitting at a waterfront café that overlooks the mountains. Overnight in Srinagar.
• Day 7: Departure from Srinagar – After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar Airport (approx. 30–45 minutes) for your onward journey. Depending on your flight time, a short walk along Dal Lake is a fitting last memory, with its slow waters, distant mountains and houseboats along the shore.

Please Note: Driving times are approximate and may vary with road and weather conditions, especially in winter. Gondola operation, pony rides and snow activities depend on the season and weather. Roads to Sonmarg and Pahalgam can be busier during the Amarnath Yatra season, usually in July and August. Comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing are recommended.
