It is a lively place that was once ruled by Khangarot Rajputs, a sub clan of Kachhawaha Rajputs.

Climate
The climate of Pachewar is dry and summer season is extremely hot. The temperature ranges from 40'C to 44'C in the month of May itself. The coldest month here is January. The district receives scanty rainfall annually.

The small village of Pachewar is located 90 kms south of the city of Jaipur and is at a convenient drive of 25 minutes from Dudu, a small town that is located on the Jaipur Ajmer highway.

The caretaker of Khandar, Thakur Anoop Singh Khangarot had captured the fort of Ranthambor from the captivity of Marathas and annexed the fort to the state of Jaipur. Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I of Jaipur bestowed upon him the fief of Pachewar. Since then the nobles from the Khangarot clan of Rajputs were ruling Pachewar.

Main Attraction
Pachewar fort is a well-preserved serene fort with its colossal parapets imposing gates, elaborate balconies and spacious apartments, festooned with antique frescos of delicate beauty. The circuit of local sightseeing includes a visit to the imperial cenotaphs, established on the banks of Pumpa Sagar Lake, ancient temples and cherished exposure to the life of the village. You can see how the village craftsmen and artisans make delicate blue pottery, cozy carpets, colorful tie and dye, and terra cotta pieces. Itinerant ironsmiths who carry their entire households on a single bullock-cart can also be seen here.
